Well, he did need a little help from a few others, such as Dante Pettis, Devontae Booker and a rejuvenated Giants defense that made Sam Darnold’s return to MetLife Stadium so inauspicious that he was benched in the fourth quarter. But with most of the Giants’ big-time offensive players off the field with injuries and a seventh different incarnation of a starting offensive line in front of him, it was Jones who showed he can elevate an undermanned team to a victory.
The Giants beat the Panthers, 25-3, to end a two-game losing streak and improve to 2-5.
