Losing to the Chicago Bears was the least of the New York Giants’ issues on Sunday. They also lost Saquon Barkley for the year to a torn ACL and Sterling Shepard for multiple games with turf toe.
Returning from multiple concussions in 2019, Shepard was looking to make a statement in 2020. Concussions can be a reason for early retirement, and Shepard has had far too many up to this point. However, picking up an injury as strange as turf toe was not foreseen. Through two games, he only has eight receptions for 76 yards. He has been a non-factor for the Giants so far but normally is a stellar red zone threat.
