If you’re from the Garden State and happened to attend the State University of New Jersey, this remains a sore subject. It certainly can’t be a talent issue. In its heyday under head coach Greg Schiano, there were several high profile players who played “On the Banks”.
According to Pro Football Reference, there have been a dozen Rutgers players drafted in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft this century.
None of those guys were selected by the New York Giants.
The most famous Rutgers alum in New York Giants franchise history is center Shaun O’Hara.
