Former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz, speaking with me Wednesday on “Big Blue View Radio,” was as direct as can be about New York Giants left tackle Ereck Flowers.
That’s it. No talk of technique, no play-by-play breakdowns, no hopeful mention of his offseason work or his youth. Just that he is “not a good football player.” On top of which, I hadn’t even asked Schwartz about the beleaguered left tackle yet.
“I don’t know what more I can say to that,” Schwartz said. “That’s just what it is.”
After Flowers allowed three sacks of Eli Manning by Ezekiel Ansah of the Detroit Lions in the Giants’ 24-10 loss on Monday night, coach Ben McAdoo said that Flowers would “absolutely” remain at left tackle.
