Can a team that won just three games in 2017 make the playoffs a season later? Even in the unpredictable NFL, that would count as a major surprise.
Few three-win teams, however, return as much talent as the Giants, who believe their injuries were the biggest factor in their awful 3-13 campaign a year ago and that major offseason changes will make them a completely different story now.
They might be right, too. But even a major improvement by NFL standards is unlikely to get them back into the playoffs.
