An explanation for Victor Cruz's catchless game vs. depleted Packers

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz was on the field for all 56 offensive snaps on Sunday night in Green Bay and didn’t catch a single pass. This was a strange and unfamiliar occurrence for Cruz.

It was the first time since the first game of his professional career that Cruz played and didn’t record a catch. He was targeted twice in his NFL debut back in 2011 against the Washington Redskins; he was targeted twice in Sunday night’s 23-16 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

It’s almost hard to fathom.
