The Giants Will Win The NFC East - Here's Why

The New York Giants are 1-2, with narrows losses to the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons. However, the Giants are in a great position to win the NFC East this season. Here's why the Giants will win their division this season.

Opportunity

The Giants are only one game back in the NFC East, but it feels like they are in the lead. The Cowboys lead the division, but are without star QB Tony Romo and WR Dez Bryant. The Washington Redskins aren't a real threat, and the Philadelphia Eagles have major problems on offense. The win last week against the Redskins gave the Giants a big boost and they are now in the driver's seat in the NFC East.

Close Losses

Look, the Giants are a few plays away from being 3-0. If the Giants had better clock management in their games against the Cowboys and Falcons, the Giants would be considered one of the better teams in the NFL right now. Those close losses could end up haunting the Giants, but they came against good teams and the Giants should have won both. That tells us the Giants are a legitimate threat this season, and they'll prove that by winning the division.

Turnover Battle

The Giants are +5 in turnover differential, tied for second best in the NFL. Eli Manning hasn't thrown any picks and the Giants have done a great job of forcing turnovers thus far. Turnover differential is huge and if the Giants keep this up, they'll win the NFC East.

Eli Manning

Manning is the best QB in the NFC East right now, almost by default. Kirk Cousins is ... Kirk Cousins, Sam Bradford hasn't played well so far and Tony Romo is injured. Manning is completing 65 percent of his passes for 764 yards, 4 TDs and no picks. He's guided an offense that is ninth in the NFL in points per game. With Manning at the helm, the Giants will win the NFC East.
