NY Giants News: Safety Will Hill Suspended For Six Games

The New York Giants are already working with a thin secondary, and those problems just got worse with the news that free safety Will Hill will be suspended for the first six games of the 2014 campaign.

Hill, a third-year player out of Florida, was suspended for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. He'll be eligible to return to the team following their October 12 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He had appealed the suspension, but the appeal was denied by the NFL. The Giants, who expected the appeal to fail, demoted Hill to practicing with the second team during OTAs this week.

Hill started 10 games for the Giants in 2013, racking up 77 tackles with two interceptions and two forced fumbles. Stevie Brown, who sat out all of last season with a knee injury, is currently practicing with the first team and is expected to fill in for Hill during his absence.
