I’ll be the first to admit that when the “Pigeon” nickname first started popping up in regard to New York City FC, I was pretty against it. I mean, pigeons are pretty much rats with wings as far as I’m concerned, especially New York pigeons. They’re dirty, they’re annoying, they don’t move for anyone... they’re just a constant nuisance.
But as the club has grown, I’ve admittedly become more receiving of the nickname. And so has the team. On this year’s home kit, a mosaic pigeon is the the jock tag. And you know what? I love it!
