New York City FC’s captain, David Villa, has been nominated for the Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month.
In the month of September, Villa scored five goals and registered two assists to help NYCFC go 3-1-1 as they chase the top spot and a first round playoff bye in the Eastern Conference.

Villa goes up against Giovani dos Santos, Ola Kamara, Chad Marshall, and Bradley Wright-Phillips in this month’s voting.
