After suffering two losses and one win in Phase One of the Leagues Cup, the Pigeons will look to regain confidence playing against domestic opposition, Nashville SC. With their elimination from the next round of the international tournament, NYCFC has something to prove at home. Nashville, however, is currently in third place in the Eastern Conference, with only four points separating them from the top of the table.
The Major League Soccer game is important as it would improve NYCFC’s chances of making it to the MLS Cup Playoffs. Currently, the Pigeons have two games in hand, and if they win both of them, they will firmly be able to compete until the end of the season.
