NYCFC turn up the heat in impressive win over Montreal

Jesus Medina scored his first goal since April and New York City FC toppled the red-hot Montreal Impact for a 3-0 win Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.

The Impact entered the game with a four-game winning streak, but ultimately succumbed to NYCFC’s pressure in the second half.

Medina opened the scoring in the 60th minute with a wonderful strike from the edge of the box — his first goal since an April 29 win over FC Dallas.

Five minutes later, substitute Ronald Matarrita netted an audacious chip over Impact goalie Evan Bush, who was caught off his line in no-man’s-land.
