NYCFC trade Ronald Matarrita to FC Cincinnati in exchange for $600,000 in GAM

A week before Christmas, New York City FC made an era defining move when they traded away team captain Alexander Ring to Austin FC in exchange for up to $1.25 million in General Allocated Money (GAM). With 2021 and the beginning of the international transfer window just days away, the Boys in Blue have made another bold move that has seen them rake in even more cash.

Earlier today, NYCFC announced that left back Ronald Matarrita — the club’s longest tenured player on the active roster — has been traded to FC Cincinnati in exchange for $600,000 in GAM.
