Finally. New York City FC have signed someone!
Earlier today, NYCFC have announced the signing of Malte Amundsen from Danish club Vejle Boldklub. The left back is the first official signing for the Bronx Blues in 2021.
Amundsen — who just turned 23 — was purchased from Vejle for a reported fee of about $1.6 million and is seen as a replacement for left back Ronald Matarrita who was transferred to FC Cincinnati last month.
NYCFC manager Ronny Deila sung Amundsen’s praises in the club’s official press release, saying: “Malte is the type of left back we were looking for in this transfer window.
