Last night, New York City FC was recognized as a finalist for the 2017 ESPN Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year Award.

The award ceremony, held at L.A. LIVE’s The Novo, celebrated and honored leagues, teams, individuals, and members of the sporting community that are using the power of sport to inspire social good.

In recognition of being named as a finalist for this award, NYCFC will receive a $25,000 grant from ESPN to direct at City in the Community (CITC), the charity proudly supported by NYCFC.

Through CITC, NYCFC uses soccer to tackle social issues and reach more than 4,000 young people each week in underserved neighborhoods across the five boroughs.
