Even before New York City FC had played its first MLS game last season, the team talked about wanting to be good neighbors and ingrained in the community.
NYCFC is teaming with mayor Bill de Blasio, the Mayor’s Fund to Advance NYC, the US Soccer Foundation and adidas to launch of the New York City Soccer Initiative. The public-private partnership will build and maintain 50 soccer fields over the next five years, all in underserved neighborhoods throughout the city.
“These new soccer fields will be essential in keeping our young New Yorkers safe, active and connected with the community.
