As the overhaul of NYCFC‘s defensive line continues, they continue to spend their allocation money and this time it goes towards 30-year centre back Frédéric Brillant. The frenchman will be the new boy in blue after NYCFC snapped him up on a free transfer.
Coming from the Belgian Pro League’s KV Oostende, Brillant is looking to make an impression on his fellow countryman and boss Patrick Vieira on the line. Playing in the Belgian system for his entire career, he brings that European experience for Vieira.
Starting in 2005 with the Third Division club RE Betrix, Brillant managed to score six goals in 122 appearances until 2010.
