NYCFC Finalize Deal With Ronald Matarrita

Whoever said NYCFC is not thinking about it’s defense is wrong.

After not picking up a defender in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft this past Thursday, many were questioning the team’s priorities. After picking up midfielder and the number one overall pick Jack Harrison, it seemed as NYCFC weren’t addressing their needs.

After a two month speculation and rumors, NYCFC have seemed to locked up defender Ronald Matarrita of Alajuelense. The exact details of the contract aren’t clear, but it seems to be a four year deal.

Like Sporting Directer Claudio Reyna said, they were going to make some signings in the coming weeks and they did just that.
