New York City FC were supposed to have trouble finding scoring production without David Villa. Instead, they’ve found a network of players, all with the clinical touch.
Even without Villa, who didn’t start for a third straight game, NYCFC extended their MLS-best start by finding four different goal scorers to star in an absolute attacking clinic, embarrassing Real Salt Lake 4-0 in a Wednesday night romp at Yankee Stadium.
Villa did make his first appearance since the March 11 win against the Galaxy, as he came on as a substitute in the second half. But his heroics weren’t needed like they might have been in the past.
