After a week of radio silence, New York City FC has emerged from the shadows to announce who will be suiting up in the City Blue for 2021 and the CONCACAF Champions League in two weeks.
The club exercised their options on Ronald Matarrita, James Sands, Alexander Callens, Justin Haak, and Luis Barraza. On the other side of things, NYCFC declined the options for Gary Mackay-Steven and Gedion Zelalem. Joe Scally will be transferring to the Bundesliga’s Borussia Monchengladbach in January, which also led to his option being declined.
