Earlier today, Major League Soccer announced the Starting XI for the upcoming MLS All-Star game against Atletico Madrid on July 31. Many of the names you’d expect to see are on it: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, Nani, etc. But there’s one problem...
THERE ARE NO NEW YORK CITY FC PLAYERS IN IT!
I get that these things are voted in by fans. But, really? No Maxi Moralez? Ismael Tajouri-Shradi hasn’t scored enough goals? Is James Sands no longer the best f’n American player in the league? Answer me!
Obviously, to many fans, this will be a relief; after all, you don’t have to worry about losing a key player to injury in what is ultimately a useless, meaningless game.
