Just days after bolstering the left side of its defense with Costa Rica international Ronald Matarrita, the NYCFC brain trust has struck again.
Today, the team announced the signing of fullback Diego Martinez of Argentina's River Plate. Martinez has spent the bulk of his last few years on loan, most recently at Patronato.
New York City FC sporting director Claudio Reyna was pleased to announce his newest addition:
"Diego is a young player, but has a good level of experience having played with the first team at River Plate. He’s a quick strong defender that can attack as well as defend.
