On Monday morning, Swedish news outlet Expressens reported that New York City FC signed reigning Allsvenskan defender of the year Anton Tinnerholm. Today, NYCFC announced that he will sign on a free transfer, pending a visa and ITC. This signing looks like a bargain for NYCFC; he scored five goals, while chipping in eight assists last season for Malmö FF. He has also appeared for the Swedish national team, and appeared in the Champions League in 2015-16. He will join NYCFC after the Swedish national team camp ends January 17.
