We’ve been hearing about it for the duration of December, and now it’s a reality. New York City FC announced the signing of Paraguayan winger Jesus Medina Sunday, the club’s first-ever “Young Designated Player.”
Early reports claimed that Medina would sign a four-year deal with City Football Group — NYCFC’s majority owner — and would subsequently be loaned out to New York City from Manchester City. According to the team, however, Medina signed a four-year deal exclusively with the Bronx Blues.
Medina, 20, joins from Club Libertad where he made 74 appearances and contributed 14 goals.
