This has been a great week so far for NJ/NY Gotham FC. First, the Bats upset the Kansas City Current in the quarterfinals of the NWSL Playoffs on Sunday, winning 2-1 after 120 minutes of play. Plus, it was the first win in all competitions against the Current. Many, including some here at Skyscraper Blues, did not think they would win, but they did, and in a convincing manner, too.
Then, on Monday, the NWSL released the 2025 NWSL Award finalists, which included multiple Gotham FC players. Esther González was nominated for the Most Valuable Player, Ann-Katrin Berger was nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year, and Lilly Reale was nominated for the Rookie of the Year.
