One of the most shocking names on New York City FC’s list of players whose options they declined was that of center back Maxime Chanot. As a matter of fact, of all the contract options that NYCFC chose to decline, Chanot’s was arguably the only one we looked with confusion.
However, I am confused no more! This morning, NYCFC announced that Chanot has inked a new “multi-year deal” with the Bronx Blues.
Chanot is the latest City player to be given a new, long-term deal with the club following Alexander Ring, Sean Johnson, and Alexander Callens doing the same shortly before the end of the 2018 season.
