On Monday, the club formally announced that the first overall pick of the MLS SuperDraft, Jack Harrison, sustained an injury. Although it was known prior to trading for Harrison, it wasn’t until being examined by the NYCFC physicians that they found the injury worse than anticipated.
On the club’s website, new Gaffer Patrick Vieira was quoted in a statement.
“At the moment we’re still assessing the injury and don’t want to put an exact timeframe on it. Hopefully Jack can take part in some of our pre-season, but at the same time we would never rush a player”
The pelvic / hip injury sustained by Harrison is definitely one that the club cannot take lightly.
