Well, the 2016 campaign is finally here, but yet, Frank Lampard is back to the drawing board with NYCFC.
The midfielder suffered a calf injury during the preseason about two weeks ago and is expected to miss the season opener against the Chicago Fire tomorrow. According to multiple reports, Lampard has not been training with squad and won’t be ready come kick-off tomorrow.
Just like in the inaugural season, Lampard came to the squad nursing a injury along the same lines and didn’t really make much of an impact. New York City FC boss Patrick Vieira is not too concerned with Lampard as he believes he’ll find his way back in the line-up.
