With NYCFC set to begin their third season Sunday in Orlando, star striker David Villa of Spain kicked around some questions with Post columnist Steve Serby:
Q: Favorite World Cup memory?
A: I think it’s when the referee took the whistle, in the (2010) final, of course. And we knew in that moment we were champions, you know? Maybe when he takes the trophy, too. But I think the moment of ecstasy was when the referee took the whistle and said, “Spain is World Cup champion.”
Q: What did you do at that moment?
