Villa tallied twice in a 2-1 win over Seattle, the 50th and 51st goals of his MLS career. It was a comeback victory, with Villa scoring in the 52nd and 77th minutes to overcome a 1-0 deficit. The win was a bounceback for NYCFC, which lost its previous game to its local rival, the Red Bulls, 1-0.
Villa needed the fifth-fewest games to reach 50 regular-season goals (78). The four players who reached that mark faster, per the Elias Sports Bureau research, are Raúl Díaz Arce (67), Carlos Ruiz (69), Roy Lassiter (75) and Taylor Twellman (77).
