Four New York City FC players have been called up to play for their national teams this international break.
Alexander Callens, Peru
Callens is now a regular starter for la Blanquirroja. Expect to see him on the field for Peru’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Bolivia on November 11 at home, and away against Venezuela on November 16.
Peru is currently #9 on the CONEMBOL table, above only last-place Venezuela. It’s squeaky bum time: The team needs to take points from these games if it hopes to qualify for the World Cup.
