The first practice of New Orleans Saints training camp is in the books, and we’ve got highlights. The play of the day comes from second-year linebacker Alex Anzalone and veteran reserve safety Chris Banjo teaming up for a dynamic sideline interception off of a pass from backup quarterback Taysom Hill.
There’s so many good things going on with this play. Anzalone is running in stride with rookie tight end Deon Yelder into the flat and is in perfect position to swat the ball away. Banjo is rushing down to prevent a turn upfield should Yelder make the catch despite Anzalone’s tight coverage, luckily putting himself in place to pick off the tipped pass.
