The Saints terminated Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s contract as a part of trimming the roster down to 53 players. This likely isn't the end of his time with the Saints as the veteran is a prime candidate for being one of the first names added to the Saints practice squad.
Edwards-Helaire was selected to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He ran for 1,845 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four year tenure with the team. He was cut on December 16, 2024 after missing time with injuries and personal matters.
It didn’t take long for the Saints to reach out to the Louisiana native.
