You don’t want to see a projected starter retire the week before your first preseason game, but that’s where the New Orleans Saints find themselves after Patrick Robinson decided to hang up his cleats. So how does that leave the depth chart at cornerback?
Outside of Marshon Lattimore, there isn’t anything even close to a certainty. Robinson was the leader in the competition to start opposite Lattimore and now that job is vacated. Maybe it’ll mean a more prominent role for dime defensive back P.J. Williams. Rookie draft pick Paulson Adebo could get pushed into the lineup ahead of schedule.
