In an expected move, the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District Board’s board of directors approved the memorandum of understandings on Tuesday to begin work on the video board upgrades at both the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Smoothie King Center.
The vote came days after the New Orleans Saints confirmed team owner Tom Benson has agreed to put $25 million toward the fan-facing upgrades that will put in much larger video display systems in both venues as well the installation of a state-of-the-art HD production room that will service the video boards in both arenas.
