Thomas Morstead pleased to spend a game day on the sidelines

Thomas Morstead hasn’t had many quiet days in the office, but he spent more time than usual watching his New Orleans Saints teammates play from the sidelines during Sunday’s win over the Carolina Panthers.

He didn’t punt a single time. Five of the seven Saints possessions ended with points scored (five touchdowns, two field goals), with another promising drive ending in a disastrous sack-fumble, and the final sequence capped by Drew Brees kneeling out the clock to close out the victory.

Sure, Morstead got on the field. He remains the holder for field goal tries and extra-point attempts, and he helped execute a successful kick on each occasion his number was called with Wil Lutz.
