The NFL Hall of Fame is going to do something different next year when it comes to the class of 2020. Canton was going to let in 20 nominees, which is a bit more than the standard five. Well, kind of. First, the extra spots are limited to players from more than 25 years ago, three contributors — no timeframe and this is more than the standard — and two coaches — same as contributors. That’s nice, but the real problem is that there is a backup of more recently retired players.
I would like to agree with others who have said this on Twitter today: The problem with the NFL Hall of Fame is not a lack of senior inductees.
