New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton said Tuesday the team liked Ryan Nassib when the quarterback entered the draft in 2013.
With Nassib now in a Saints uniform after spending four seasons with the New York Giants, Payton continues to be impressed with the 6-foot-2, 223-pound signal caller at the conclusion of mandatory minicamp.
"He's a quick study, he's smart," Payton said Thursday. "He's obviously been in a pro offense in New York and I think he's picked it up very quickly."
For his part, Nassib was humbled that the Saints head coach kept tabs on his career, especially after he finished the 2016 season on injured reserve with an arm injury before signing a deal with New Orleans earlier in the week.
