We’ve talked a lot about undrafted rookie free agents over the course of this last week. Probably more so than in other years since the 2019 NFL Draft was pretty anticlimactic for Saints fans. No offense to the Saints draft class of 2019, it’s just that we’re used to more. There’s also the fact that the Saints have traditionally been able to find some pretty good hidden gems in the UDFA pool. Names like Sammy Knight, Willie Whitehead, Michael Lewis, Jabari Greer, Lance Moore, Willie Snead are all well-known UDFA stars in the Big Easy. But you’d be hard pressed to find a bigger fan favorite than running back Pierre Thomas.
