From a report by Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate, Saints defensive end Alex Okafor will have the final year of his current contract voided. The move will make him a free agent in March and allow him to explore opportunities with other teams on the open market.
This is a bit of bad news for the Saints as issues keep building up in the only recently started 2019 off-season. Defensive tackle David Onyemata may face suspension for a misdemeanor marijuana possession citation he received in January. Nickel cornerback P.J. Williams will also likely be facing suspension for a DUI following the NFC Championship Game.
