Saints waive OT Nate Wozniak, add TE A.J. Derby in roster moves

The New Orleans Saints have been short-handed at tight end, with rookie draft pick Alize Mack and backup Garrett Griffin missing time with injuries in recent days. So they brought in veteran free agent A.J. Derby on Wednesday, as reported by Luke Johnson of USA Today. Second-year left tackle Nate Wozniak, a second-year pro who spent 2018 on the practice squad while transitioning from tight end, was waived to make room on the 90-man roster. Herbie Teope of the Advocate first reported the transaction.

Derby caught just three passes for the Miami Dolphins last year, but he’s already on his fourth team since joining the New England Patriots back in 2016 (a year he also spent with the Denver Broncos).
