The New Orleans Saints shook up the roster Wednesday, a day before the start of training camp.
The Saints waived running back Marcus Murphy and placed center Chris Watt on the reserve/retired list, according to Wednesday's NFL Transactions report.
The two transactions are the corresponding moves to the previously reported signings of guard Kristjan Sokali and offensive lineman Martin Wallace, both of which are now official.
The 5-foot-9, 195-pound Murphy joined the Saints in 2015 as a seventh-round draft pick out of Missouri. He contributed mostly on special teams over the past two seasons, but Murphy's issues with ball security as a returner saw him being inactive for 13 games in 2016.
