Saints: Tight end Benjamin Watson hanging up cleats in 2019

Benjamin Watson, in his second tour of duty with the New Orleans Saints, announced on Thursday, Dec. 27, that he’s retiring from the NFL at the end of this season. The tight end is currently playing in his 15th season as a pro at the age of 38.

Watson was drafted 32nd overall by the New England Patriots in the 2004 NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia. He spent six seasons with the Patriots, winning a Super Bowl with them as a rookie. From there he was with the Cleveland Browns for three seasons from 2010-2012.
