Saints: Teddy Bridgewater, moving past game manager to heir apparent

When the Saints added quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to the roster late in the preseason last year it seemed like a coup. We all knew the name from his days at the University of Louisville and from his Pepsi Rookie of the Year Award in 2014 playing for the Minnesota Vikings. The feeling was that the Saints had finally found their true heir to the soon to be retiring, it’s assumed, Drew Brees.

Bridgewater suffered a nasty injury in the preseason of 2016 and missed that entire year and most of the 2017 Season. The long recovery process caused the Vikings to move on from him and he was picked up by the Jets in the offseason of 2018.
