Roman Harper in 2009 was a 26-year-old fourth-year player on the New Orleans Saints' Super Bowl-winning team. Now 32, he is a 10th-year player old enough for his current Carolina Panthers teammates to tag him with the nickname of "Uncle Rome."
Harper, whose Panthers at 11-0 are the final undefeated team left in the NFL, wrote a piece for theMMQB.com that compared the Saints and their 13-0 start from that season to the Panthers' current undefeated run.
In it, he said the Saints "embodied the party culture of New Orleans" with "rookies dancing shirtless in the club" and a focus on individuals that "was a formula that worked for us.
