The New Orleans Saints signed six players to reserve/futures contracts on Jan. 21; Nick Underhill of the Advocate first reported the signings. This only guarantees those players a spot on the 90-man summer roster that the Saints will carry into training camp. All six were previously members of the Saints practice squad:
- Defensive back Chris Campbell
- Defensive back J.T. Gray
- Defensive tackle Tomasi Laulile
- Linebacker Darnell Sankey
- Offensive tackle Nate Wozniak
- Quarterback J.T. Barrett
These players will compete throughout training camp in 2019 to earn a spot on the opening-day roster, so this only promises them a head start on their competition.
