The New Orleans Saints traded away wide receiver Rashid Shaheed before the NFL’s trade deadline, getting a 2026 fourth-round pick and a 2026 fifth-round pick in return. The deal was overshadowed by a few other massive moves around the league on deadline day, but it is a clear indicator of how the Saints’ front office feels about the current state of the team and rookie quarterback Tyler Shough.
Shough is currently going through a nine game evaluation to prove he's the Saints' future starting quarterback. He'll have to prove it in eight of those games without his second best receiver.
