Three games into the season, New Orleans Saints safety Jairus Byrd has 17 tackles.
Those are his only stats.
No passes defensed, no interceptions, no forced fumbles, no sacks, no tackles for loss.
As the Saints look for answers on how to improve a defense that ranks 31st overall and in points allowed, they know they have to generate more game-changing plays.
"We need big plays," said Byrd, who signed a six-year deal in 2014 that could max out at $54 million.
But, the Saints could soon wonder whether or not another safety gives them a better chance to make such plays.
