When Hall of Fame left tackle Willie Roaf was with the Saints you could be sure of a couple of things. One, the quarterback’s blindside was safe. Two, running plays were going to the left. In 2017, the right side was the favorite for Alvin Kamara behind rookie right tackle Ryan Ramczyk.
Pro Football Focus put out a tweet on Monday, June 25, that illuminated the issue. The stat being highlighted was yards per gain on runs to the right in the NFL. Two of the top five players were Alvin Kamara at number one and Mark Ingram at number three.
