Saints place Delvin Breaux on injured reserve; could return midseason

METAIRIE, La. -- The New Orleans Saints placed cornerback Delvin Breaux on injured reserve Monday as he recovers from a broken fibula, meaning he will miss at least the first seven games.

NFL teams are allowed to bring back up to two players who are placed on injured reserve during the season. But they can’t practice for a minimum of six weeks and can’t play for a minimum of eight weeks. The Saints have a bye in Week 5.

The Saints re-signed veteran offensive tackle Bryce Harris to fill Breaux’s roster spot.
